RCL Graduate Students Present at the 2008 Spring Graduate Colloquium

Jennifer Herman, Paige Van Osdol and Melanie Yergeau gave a panel presentation on May 15 at the Spring Graduate Colloquium. Their panel was entitled:
Walking the Line: Women’s Strategic Ethical and Moral Appeals from the Middle Ages to Modernity. Jennifer presented the first paper: “Mystic Visions and Strategic Abjection: Gender Performance and a Feminized Christian Literacy in Julian of Norwich’s Revelation of Love.” Paige’s paper was entitled “Mouthpiece of an Emotional Truth: Womanhood and Pathetic Appeals in Ida B. Wells's Anti-Lynching Rhetoric.” Melanie finished the presentation with “Apocalyptic Feminism(s): Kairos and Sublimity in the Preaching of Aimee Semple McPherson.”
